Week 23

Eric is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound, about as much as a large mango. In utero he is getting used to hearing Bailey barking and the vacuum cleaner roaring and these sounds will seem normal (not scary) to Eric when he hears them outside the womb.

We started child birthing classes. We get homework each week. We also watch scary movies about labor and birth! AUGH!

Week 22

Eric now looks like a miniature newborn, checking in at 10.9 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound. His lips are becoming more distinct, and the first signs of teeth are appearing as buds beneath his gum line.

On Thursday I felt a strange sensation and again on Sunday, as of last night I am positive what I have been feeling is Eric! The sensation is almost like someone tapping you on the shoulder to get your attention, only its on your stomach and comes from the inside. Hub can feel it when he puts his hand on the bump - we are SO excited!!! What a great birthday present for me!

It's a...

We haven't seen the baby on ultrasound since I was 11 weeks. It's so odd being in charge of taking care of someone you can't see or hear or smell or touch, especially when they are so fragile and precious.

Baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long from head to toe, about the length of a carrot. Eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed!

We got to see the baby today on ultrasound, we got a CD full of pix! It looks like the internal organs are all developing the way they are supposed to as far as the radiologist technician can tell. And they told us the sex of the baby... anybody want to know?

Week 20! (Month 5)

Many thanks fo Susie for her donation!

I had a dream the other night and it was the first time in a dream that I was pregnant!

The top of my uterus is at the level of my belly button now. Getting out of bed, off the sofa, and especially off the floor is getting harder and harder! I seem to have lost whatever balance I once had, I'm still having a really strong aversion to red meat, and my socks are suddenly too tight (read: my feet are swelling)

Baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now, is around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana!
