Evie is 1 year, 9 months and 1 week old; Eric is 3.5 years old!

Photos taken this week: 34

I went to the eye doctor, I have pinguecula, read more about it HERE. I got some new glasses since my old ones were 10 years old. My prescription hasn’t changed much, but it was time for new frames and since our insurance covered it, I figured I might as well go for it.

He's still adjusting to this whole big boy bed concept, lol.

It seemed like the middle of Christmas rush when suddenly all of time just stood still. On Dec 6, Evie fell and couldn't move her right arm. We went to the ER, we went through 7 different times of Evie being x-rayed, we had countless visits to her pediatrician and were then referred to an orthopedic surgeon who we visited throughout the month of December on and off. We were traveling all over to get her the best doctors to figure out exactly why she couldn't move her arm. No one could figure out what was wrong with her, they didn't want to put a cast on it until it could be set properly, I had to beg for an ace bandage to keep it still. In the meantime, we were waiting for 3 different radiologists to give their opinions on the x-rays that were taken. Then we had to have more x-rays because she was so little and so squirmy no one could read the x-rays and they all thought they saw something but no one was sure. They had to twist her poor little arm in ways that made her scream out in pain and then expected me to hold it there while they went to push the x-ray machine buttons. After more x-rays, we sent them to one of the best radiologists in Ca, but she was on vacation, so after waiting weeks for her to get back, she said it was a deep bone bruise and that Evie would not need a cast, but that she shouldn't use her arm for several weeks. We kept it ace-bandaged for weeks until the orthopedic surgeon said we could take it off. Even then she couldn't use her arm. She was 1 year old and becoming left-handed. I was worried she wouldn't never regain full use of her arm. 6 months later, she has regained full use of her arm, she is right-handed again and you'd never know she was damaged. It's scary how fragile life is, yet the human body is so miraculous. One of the x-ray techs gave Evie this little teddy bear and I made her this shirt that says "one tough cookie" (you can see one of her x-rays next to the teddy bear).

Eric's school asked for a cubby photo, so I made this.

Christmas cookies are DELICIOUS!

Christmas cookies are OUTRAGEOUS!

Our neighbors stopped by again, I watch them a lot lately while their parents work or run errands. Eric and Evie really enjoy these impromptu play dates!

Poor Evie, I am so glad her arm healed after all that scariness!
