Eric is 9 months and 1 week old!

Eric's ear infection is gone, but he still has his eye infection and now he has thrush thanks to the antibiotics, so we had to go to the doctor again and get him some medicine to take for that as well as some creme for his diaper. And I got special creme from my doctor because Eric shared his thrush with me. It's been a busy week full of more doctor visits (just like the last 3 weeks) and our bathroom looks like a pharmacy, but we are hanging in there.

In between doctor appointments, we stopped at Scott's work to say hi. Everyone there just loves Eric and they were so excited to see him walking around, standing up without using the wall, and picking things up by bending over instead of having to sit down first! One of Scott's co-workers even had 3 bags of toys for Eric - thank you Lisa!!!

Eric is 9 months old!

This week Eric got his first eye and ear infections. I think he got them when I went to the doctor's office to have some blood drawn. He is on antibiotics and eye drops. Thankfully it doesn't seem to be slowing him down, he is walking all over the place (he is getting really good at turning corners now too!) and exploring objects by shaking them, banging them, dropping them, and throwing them before falling back on the tried-and-true method of gumming them! I know one thing for sure, he does NOT like to have his nose wiped!

His 9 month doctor visit had another shot :( but he got a cool Snoppy-in-space band-aid! Eric is 18.14 pounds and 29 inches tall! The doctor says Eric's eyes are probably close to their final color, although we may see subtle changes later. Hooray for his beautiful blue eyes!!!

Eric is 8 months and 3 weeks old!

ACK!!! We have officially moved up to size 3 diapers! (he is growing up sooooo fast!)

We often play in the livingroom on the floor and sometimes after he has been playing for a while, he will come over to me and hug and kiss me and then go back to playing. He is such a sweet and loving little person!

He loves to be ultra-mobile, he is walking all over the place and is so happy to have the freedom to go where ever (within reason) he wants. He is learning limits, such as we don't eat the cat's food and the garbage can is not a play thing. Happily, he is pretty good about listening when I tell him certain objects are not for him.

We attended Savanna's birthday party at Adventure Land, Eric really enjoyed the baby playground they had there!

Eric loves books, especially Dr. Seuss!

Eric is 8 months and 2 weeks old!

This week he has started saying, "Moma" but doesn't realize that is my name, he just roams around the house saying it over and over again. It is so cute and I can't wait until he associates me with that sound!

I was born on SuperBowl Sunday - the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Dallas Cowboys in Miami, Florida. The Steelers won 21-17. This is Eric's first superbowl, so its super cool that the Steelers won again!

Eric has gotten the hang of feeding himself! :) We are starting a few new foods such as cheese, mandarine oranges, noodles, etc, and he is very interested in them!

Eric is super fast at crawling now (even with a toy in one hand) and great at standing up by himself. The robeez are amazing, today he took 14 steps all on his own! (sorry the video is sideways, i can't get it to flip around) Yes, he is crying, he wanted the camera and I took it away to video tape him :(

Eric is 8 months and 1 week old!

Eric's Robeez came in the mail today! (robeez are special shoes for babies who are learning to walk, they are soft enough to promote healthy foot growth, but have good traction to make moving from a crawling position into a standing postion easy) :) Just look how well he can stand in them!

Eric's Robeez have a train engine on one shoe and the caboose on the other shoe! (a few days after the robeez came in the mail, Eric was taking his first steps!)

Look at the cute name train Gran Susan and Grandpa Steve found for Eric!

Susie came to meet Eric and brought him this beautiful blanket! Eric just loves all his teddy bears - even his shirt has a teddy on it!

Eric is 8 months old!

For my birthday, my boy learned to crawl!!!

My birthday at Steven's Farmhouse where we had lunch and pie! (look at the pretty roses!)

Eric's first swing ride at Steven's Farmhouse! (the swing is a plane - too cute!)

A birthday card from Eric and olallieberry pie - what more could I ask for?

This week he also attended his first play group! (he is making that face because the sun was in his eyes)

Eric is 7 months & 4 weeks old!

This week Eric is blowing raspberries - oh what fun it is! He also has developed this swinging arm motion that can sweep everything off his high chair table (or any other flat surface) and right onto the floor in one easy motion. Even after everything is on the floor, he continues the arm swinging cuz it's just that cool!

Eric is pulling up on anything he can - once he is up, he makes his way from object to object (very clever!), he prefers to be standing at all times. Although when he is on his tummy he has almost crawled a few times, we are getting SO close!!! Plus he has figured out how to get into a sitting position from a tummy position - he is more mobile every time I turn around! (we have made sure to teach him how to get from a standing position back down to his bottom so he doesn't get stuck standing someplace where he doesn't want to be)

Eric is exploring his new teeth, biting on his spoon when I feed him, chewing his vegie puffs, and running his tongue along the new ridges in his mouth - having teeth is like having an adventure inside your mouth all day long!

Blowing raspberries!

This video shows his sitting down technique and his "almost ready to crawl" pose.

This video shows Eric's mobility, he is really great at moving around and it also shows how much he loves his Mookie Cat!!!

Daddy's favorite is Indiana Jones, so here is a tribute!

Eric wished for his two front teeth for xmas and his wish came true, lol!

Eric is 7 months & 3 weeks old!

Eric has started wringing his hands together, sort of like Mr. Burns from The Simpson's does. I think he is just exploring them, but its really cute when Scott's says, "Excellent!" while he does it, just like Mr. Burns.

This week I have started hearing Eric make a car noise - its low and gutteral. He doesn't make it while playing with his cars, he just makes it every once in a while, like he is practicing for later.

I put Eric to bed and he wasn't quite asleep yet; he rolled over to look at me as I stood at his crib side. He looked me in the eye and smiled as he reached his little hand through the slates to hold my hand - my heart just melted and tears of joy welled in my eyes. I just love my little pumpkin so very much!!!

We made art this week: talked about colors, the feel of the paintbrush on his little hand, how the paint was cold and kinda slimy, how he needed to open his hand and press it against the paper, etc.

Eric wrestles the bear he got from his Great Great Aunt Pinky & Great Great Uncle Ray

New Year's Resolution - get to the gym more often (it's a "Rocky" joke for Daddy - a movie about boxing)
